Happy Sunday!
Five minutes each week to reset, reflect, and move forward with intention.
1 INSIGHT TO CONSIDER
What people think of you is made of their history, their fears, their lens. It was never really about you.
Someone’s judgment of you says more about them than you – their experiences, their insecurities, their mood that day, the story they were already telling before you walked in. You can’t control it, correct it, or manage it, because it doesn’t live in you. It lives in them. Trying to control your image in every mind you meet is a full-time job with no salary and no vacation. Resign. Do your work, treat people well, and let their opinions be what they always were: theirs.
2 REFLECTIONS TO SIT WITH
You’d worry less about what people think if you knew how rarely they do.
Managing your reputation in every mind is a prison. Letting go is the door.
3 PROMPTS FOR THE WEEK
Whose opinion am I working hardest to manage – and what is it costing me?
What would I do differently if their judgment was officially not my business?
What could I do with the energy I currently spend on image management?
Until next week,
Chris
