The hardest part...
Isn't the work. It's the starting.
Happy Sunday!
Five minutes each week to reset, reflect, and move forward with intention.
1 INSIGHT TO CONSIDER
The blank page is terrifying because it holds every possibility and no direction.
There’s a unique fear that lives at the very beginning. The empty page. The first day. The blinking cursor. The moment before anything exists. It’s not the difficulty of the work that stops us – it’s the vertigo of the start, when nothing has taken shape yet and every choice feels enormous. But here’s the secret: the beginning is only hard until you make the first mark. The first ugly sentence. The first clumsy step. Once something exists, you have something to work with. Starting badly is still starting.
2 REFLECTIONS TO SIT WITH
The first step doesn’t have to be good. It just has to be taken.
Everything that exists began as something imperfect and unfinished.
3 PROMPTS FOR THE WEEK
What beginning am I avoiding because the blank page feels too big?
What’s the smallest possible first mark I could make?
What would I start if I gave myself permission to begin badly?
Until next week,
Chris
