Something New
A first look for The Intentional Artist readers
Dear Friends,
Other than Sunday Signals, it's been a while since I've written at length here. That's because I've been working on several projects that needed my full attention, and today, I want to introduce one of them to you.
I’m launching The International Review of Photography, a weekly newsletter covering the global photography art world — exhibitions, fairs, auctions, photobooks, and photographer profiles — in a concise format you can read in five minutes. Every Monday morning.
As a reader of The Intentional Artist, you already think seriously about art, craft, and creative practice. If you’re also a photographer, a visual artist working across mediums, or someone who sees photography as one of the defining art forms of our time, this newsletter is designed to keep you connected to what’s happening — the exhibitions shaping the conversation, the photobooks worth studying, the emerging artists gaining attention, and where the market is moving.
Why this, why now? The photography world has excellent publications — L’Oeil de la Photographie delivers essential daily coverage, Aperture and Foam publish deeply considered quarterly issues, and the British Journal of Photography has been a vital voice since 1854. But if you want a concise weekly overview of everything happening across the global photography landscape — which shows to see, which books to read, what’s moving at auction, who’s emerging — there hasn’t been a single place to get all of that in one sitting. Until now.
To give you a taste, I’m including the full first issue below. If it’s something you’d like to receive every Monday, subscribe here — it’s free.
If this isn’t for you, no action needed — you’ll continue receiving The Intentional Artist as usual. Nothing changes with your current subscription.
The International Review of Photography joins LA Insider and The Intentional Artist in the Fabrik Media family. We’ve been connecting audiences with art and culture since 2008 — first in print with Fabrik Magazine, and now through curated digital newsletters. This is the next chapter.
Thank you for reading, and for being part of this community.
— Chris
