Rest is not earned...
It's required. Your worth isn't tied to your productivity, and your value doesn't diminish when you pause.
Happy Sunday!
Five minutes each week to reset, reflect, and move forward with intention.
1 INSIGHT TO CONSIDER
Rest isn’t the absence of work. It’s the presence of renewal.
We’ve been conditioned to believe that rest must be earned through exhaustion, that stopping means laziness, that our value comes from how busy we appear. But rest isn’t a reward for productivity - it’s a requirement for sustainability. Real rest isn’t just sleep or vacation. It’s any moment when you allow yourself to simply be, without doing, achieving, or producing anything at all.
2 REFLECTIONS TO SIT WITH
Your nervous system needs rest more than your schedule needs filling.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is nothing.
3 PROMPTS FOR THE WEEK
Where am I confusing being busy with being productive?
What would change if I saw rest as essential rather than optional?
How can I give myself permission to pause without feeling guilty?
Until next week,
Chris
