Someone has to go first. It might as well be you.
The room stays silent because everyone’s waiting for someone else to speak. The apology never happens because both people are waiting to receive it. The vulnerability, the honesty, the generosity – all withheld, all waiting for someone else to open the door. This is how good things die: in mutual waiting. Going first is a risk. You might extend the hand and not have it taken. But going first is also how everything real begins. Every deep friendship, every honest culture, every meaningful movement started with one person willing to move before it was safe.

What you’re waiting to receive, someone else is waiting for you to give.
Going first is uncomfortable for a moment. Waiting is uncomfortable forever.
