There’s no neutral. You’re either building your world or living in someone else’s.
Every scroll through someone else’s feed, every hour inside someone else’s content, every day spent executing only someone else’s vision - you’re inhabiting a world someone else built. And they built it by doing exactly what you’re not doing: creating instead of consuming. Building your world means developing your ideas, your craft, your body of work, your evidence that you exist as a maker and not just an audience member. It doesn’t require quitting anything. It requires claiming some part of each day where you’re the architect, not the visitor.
2 REFLECTIONS TO SIT WITH
The people you admire are builders. Admiring them is not building.
A year of consuming leaves you entertained. A year of building leaves you changed.
